Adding Fostex T925A to VOT A7 a good idea?

Hi all,
My fisrt post after a long time reading the thread hear. I am considering of adding the Fostex T925A or T90A to my A7 to extend the high.

I wonder whether anyone has tried this approach. And how is your thought about integrating the fostex super tweeter into Altec system. Also will it better of choosing JBL 077 instead of Fostex.

Now that digital time delay is common, using a super tweeter above 5 kHz is a good plan if you want either plenty of top end 'air' for recordings that have it and/or listen far off axis, otherwise not really needed unless using 806 drivers.

Thank you very much for the reply. I am currently using 802D, so I suppose it should be Ok without super tweeters then.

Again, it depends on the scenarios I listed. I mean I made do with 802s for decades because I'm somewhat sensitive to phasing and had no realistic way to delay a super tweeter, but if I had, I would have used them. An 802 mounted to a 3/4" thick baffle with a rounded over hole in it makes an above average super tweeter when driven with a high output impedance SET amp. Now though, my HF hearing has rolled off enough that it would be a waste of time/effort/$$$ except for when youthful ears visit.
